David D. Thibaut, M.D. passed away on July 10, 2021 at the age of 93. David was born on March 27, 1928, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana to Vivian Kleinpeter and Dubourg Thibaut. David was an entrepreneur, business owner and ophthalmologist. He enjoyed bird watching, Astronomy, classical music, and was an avid LSU fan. David is preceded in death by: his parents, Vivian Kleinpeter and Dubourg Thibaut; his daughter, Constance Elizabeth Thibaut Edwards; his sister, Mercedes Elizabeth Thibaut Smith; and brothers, James Henry Thibaut and Thomas Augustes Thibaut.
David will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. David is survived by: Rita Ballard Thibaut, his beloved and devoted wife of 25 years; daughters, Louise Thibaut Rusch (Richard) and Sally Thibaut Buras; his son, David Dubourg Thibaut, Jr. (Lisa); four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home beginning at 1:00PM. Interment will follow the Funeral Service in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
