Diane Heriard Roohi passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. Diane is survived by her children, William “Bill” Roohi and wife Alma, Allison Roohi and Andrea Roohi Bonnette, her 3 grandchildren, Madeline Roohi Thomas and husband Jacob, Brandon Roohi, and Hannah Bonnette Roohi, and 1 great grandchild, Jake Thomas. She is also survived by her incredibly devoted sister Mary Heriard and brother Robert Heriard. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mansoor “Bill” Roohi, son Kevin Roohi, her parents Myrtle Heriard and Robert Heriard. Born on July 1, 1942, Diane grew up in Norco, LA and attended Southeastern University in Hammond, LA where she met her husband. Diane was a school teacher and worked at Kehoe France School before becoming a stay at home mom to raise her children. She was a lifelong lover of books and reading as well as traveling. She took a keen interest in current events and was always eager to stay informed and engaged with the times. She found great pride and pleasure in baking and creating treats that brought comfort and joy to those around her. Her appreciation for art found expression in her own creativity, particularly through sewing, smocking and quilting, where her patience, imagination, and attention to detail could be seen in every piece she made. Diane was loved by her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the Mass begins at 11:00am. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
