Dixie was born in McComb, MS on May 16, 1930 and was a beautician, worked in the beauty supply field, and for the USDA at NASA.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Salvador Indovina, Sr.; her daughter Deidre Indovina Cohen (Jeff); her son, Salvador Indovina, Jr.; grandson Jake Cohen; niece and loving caretaker Diana Beter; and sisters Peggy Shoemaker and Barbara Parsons. She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse Carlos Bullock and Lillie Myrtle Hickman; and sister Jerri Beter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.; followed by interment in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 12:00 p.m.
