Dixie Ann Webb Tahir, age 78, of New Orleans, LA, passed away on September 23, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1948 at Touro Hospital in New Orleans, LA to Orvis and Mildred Webb and is of Swiss, Scottish, Irish, French, and Chickasaw Indian ancestry.
Dixie is a graduate of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1971. She worked for 30 years in nursing as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) and always had many pets. She will be remembered for her love of nursing, her love of animals, and her horse Buster. She loved to travel and travelled all over the world.
Dixie is survived by her children: Lisa Shawn Tahir, Dr. Michael Ash Tahir, and Dr. Ashley Kim Tahir, and her grandchildren: Jennifer Ki Tahir, Anne Noel Tahir, Mitchell Lee Tahir, Helen Ash Tahir, and by her former husband, Dr. Ash H. Tahir.
A Celebration of Life will be held at gravesite on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 12:00PM at Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. (Left onto Avenue H after passing the entrance fountain. Park at Louisiana Heritage Trail Marker 1). Flowers may be brought or sent to adorn her casket.
