She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 60 years, Simeon Hernandez and a son Alejandro Hernandez.
She is survived by a sister Gloria Castro, her children Nolvia Allo (Jake), Lilly Ortiz, Nelda Lobo (Jose) and Roberto Hernandez (Norma), 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10 am. Visitation will begin at 9 am until service time and the committal ceremony will follow the Mass and take place at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.
