

She earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration and went on to a career as a High School Business Teacher. She was honored to serve God as a Lay Carmelite. In her free time she loved Shopping, Reading, Volunteering at Hospitals, Serving as a Eucharistic Minister, caring for her Cats named Chubby and Lucy, and Gardening. She was a very generous, caring, and giving person who loved to give gifts to everyone she knew.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Dallas Joseph Payton, and her parents.
Dolores is survived by her 4 Daughters: Sabrina Anderson, Melody Archer, Gisele Gale, and Denise Peifer; her 4 Grandchildren: Victor Baralt, Cristina Baralt, Stephen Anderson, and John Peifer; her 1 Great Grandchild: Alec Baralt; and her 4 Son-in-Laws: Eric Anderson, Keith Archer, Allen Gale, and Michael Peifer.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Staff and Volunteers of Reliant at Home Hospice located in Houston, Texas for their care and compassion, as well as the Nuns and Volunteers of Servants of Mary Ministers to the Sick.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 2 PM. The visitation will begin at 12 PM and end at 2 PM. The Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, and the Office of the Dead will be recited at 1 PM with the Lay Carmelites. A graveside service will follow the Mass in the All Saints Holy Trinity Corridor Mausoleum.
