Donald Cory Walker

Cory is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Suzanne Cooper Walker; his parents, William Alva Walker III and Sara Calzada Fernandez; his daughters, Emily Walker Barker (Jonathan), Sarah Lael Walker, and Molly Elizabeth Walker; his brothers, William Alva Walker IV (Nicole) and Kevin Michael Walker (Paige); and his cherished grandchildren, Jacob Adam Barker and Rebecca Joy Barker.

Above all else, Cory loved his family. His unwavering devotion to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, his immeasurable pride in his three daughters, and the indescribable joy he found in his two grandchildren reflected the heart of the man he was. They were his greatest blessing, and there was nothing he cherished more than being surrounded by those he loved.

A man of deep faith, Cory was passionate about sharing the love of Christ. He lived his life with quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and a servant’s heart. Whether offering encouragement, lending a helping hand, or simply being present, he was someone others could always depend on. His compassion extended not only to family and friends but even to every dog he met, reflecting the gentleness and generosity that defined his character.

Cory had a lifelong love of learning and an endless curiosity about the world around him. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans and a bachelor’s degree in science and engineering from Tulane University. He was the proud president of Nova Lubrication System LLC.

A proud New Orleanian through and through, Cory was an enthusiastic fan of the New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans. He especially loved bringing family and friends together around a table, where his beloved crawfish recipe became the centerpiece of countless treasured gatherings.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the love Cory gave so freely will never fade. It lives on in the family he adored, the memories we will forever cherish, and the countless lives he touched through his faith, kindness, and generosity. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m.
