Doris Schroeder Carson passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Ferdinand and Marguerite Schroeder of New Orleans. Doris was one of 8 children and was preceded in death by her 7 siblings: Fred, Raymond, Monte, Joseph, Frankie, Elaine, and Rita.
Loving mother of Susan Cochran (Bill), Nancy Prigmore (Clyde), Stephen Carson (Jean), Kenneth Carson (Debra), Dennis Carson, Mark Carson (Barbara), and the late Mary Ann Carson and Patricia Carson. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
In 1942, Doris met the man of her dreams in Earl Carson from Iuka, Mississippi and was married soon thereafter. God and family were always in the forefront of their marriage and raising 8 children was their lifelong task. Doris was steadfast in her daily Novenas, Mass, and rosaries. All of her 8 children attended Catholic grammar schools, Catholic high schools, and all 8 graduated college.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 1 PM. Visitation will begin at 11 AM and continue until Mass time. Following Mass, a committal ceremony will be held in Lake Lawn Park where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
