She was born Dorothy Marie Folse to the late Althaea Christo Folse and Robert Raymond Folse Sr. Growing up in New Orleans along with her late siblings Faye Folse Taylor and Robert Raymond Folse Jr. (Jeanne), she lived a wonderful life surrounded by her family. Her family was everything to “Dot” and she strove to make a strong loving home nurturing not only her children but nieces and nephews as well. She was a true southern lady. She was employed at Metropolitan life insurance until retirement, pausing long enough to raise her children. Her days were spent home making, reading, enjoying family and cheering on the “Saints”. Dot was a devout parishioner of St Louis King of France church and former choir member for many years. She lovingly shared her faith with her family.
She is survived by her Children Dawn Marie (Lionel Jr.) Alphonso, Denise Marie (Charles) Williams, David Gerard (April) Barilleaux and Don Gerard Barilleaux. Nephews include Christopher Taylor (Kim), Robert Folse III and niece Karen Folse. She was further blessed with grandchildren Micah (Taylor) and Miranda Alphonso, Joseph (Robin) Bruno, the late Amanda Bruno, Marisa Bruno, Reece Williams, Amelia Barilleaux and Donovan Barilleaux. Great grandchildren Anthony, Scarlet, Violet, Cayden and Callie Bruno round out her family. Beloved wife of the late Donald James Barilleaux for many years, she was the love of his life.
Please join us to pay tribute and celebrate her life on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100. Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation to begin at 10 AM with a Mass to follow at 11 AM. Interment at Lake Lawn Mausoleum.
