Born on September 1, 1939, in Mansura, Louisiana, Earline grew up in Mid-City New Orleans and graduated from Warren Easton High School in 1957, where she played basketball. In 1966, she and her husband, Jay, moved to River Ridge to raise their family. She worked for many years in the medical industry and was a member of Victory Church for over two decades. Through the church’s nursing home ministry, she shared the love of Jesus with the elderly.
Affectionately known as Maw Maw, Earline’s home was the heart of the family. Sundays after church, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and birthdays were celebrated on Joel Avenue with her delicious home-cooked meals, laughter around the kitchen table, and gatherings in the living room, whether piled on the sofa or sitting in a circle on the floor. Maw Maw was known for giving the best Christmas presents and her infamous homemade birthday cakes.
Above all, Earline loved Jesus and was a faithful prayer warrior for her family. She lived a Christ-centered life, setting an example of faith, love, and devotion for all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Trinity Trace Community Care Center in Covington for their exceptional care, compassion, and love over the past five years, her home away from home.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation and funeral services on Saturday, August 16, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, located at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a chapel service at 1:00 PM.
