Edgar Leon Cretin III

Edgar Leon Cretin III passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the age of 51. He was born in New Orleans to Elizabeth Frey Cretin Collier and the late Edgar Cretin Jr. After finishing high School at De La Salle in New Orleans, Edgar obtained a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Louisiana State University and had a long, successful career in home building.

Edgar is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Cretin; sons, Grant Edgar Cretin and Luke Herbert Cretin; mother, Elizabeth Frey Collier (Andy); stepmother, Freda Cretin; siblings, Christine Cretin Brouillette (Kris), Christopher Cretin, Kurt Cotton (Ruthie), Blake Cretin (Nikola), and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Cretin Jr and brother Stephen Cotton.

Edgar was a man of wisdom, who used his humor to light up rooms with his ridiculous jokes. He was a Louisiana native, who followed in his father’s footsteps into the construction business, building wonderful homes for people all over the state for more than 25 years. Edgar was always a proud father and husband, and carried this trait with him into death. Outside of building homes, he enjoyed collecting guns, skiing, and passing his wisdom down to his kids.

He will be missed by his family, friends, and everyone who got the chance to meet him.
