Edilia “Mima” Torres on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Carpenter House surrounded by her children. Mima was born on January 28, 1932 in Nueva Paz, Havana, Cuba. She is preceded by her husband of 31 years, Eladio Torres, father Ricardo Sierra and mother Alicia Placeres Sierra. She is survived by her siblings - Servando “Aristedes” Sierra and Alicia Sierra Fernandez, six children - Jorge, Jose Raul, Ada, Eladio “Henry”, Maria, and Alicia, her grandchildren - George Torres, Daisy Guarino, Danny Galindo, Lizette Valencia, Michelle Galindo, Allison Cole, Raul Torres, Susie Dearman, Eladio E. Torres, Malori Mia Couvillion, Veronica Kimble and 20 great grandchildren and one great, great grandaughter. Mima was a devout Catholic, member of St. Jerome Church in Kenner. Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm on Friday, , October 23, 2015 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, La, with a funeral mass to begin at 2pm.
