

Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Irl DeSilva, Jr.; her parents, Sam and Conchetta DiFatta Michel; her brother, Roy Michel; two nieces, Kathleen DeSilva and Patricia D. Smith; and nephew, John DeSilva, Jr.
She is survived by her cousins, Rosemary Catanese (Charlie) and Jo Ann D’Antonio (Johnny), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna was born in New Orleans on June 14, 1932. She was a graduate of Holy Angels High School and attended Loyola University. She worked for Whitney Bank for over 20 years, eventually retiring to care for her aging mother and aunt. She enjoyed watching television, going to casinos, and trips to Las Vegas and Branson. Edna was also a parishioner of St. Dominic Parish.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 12:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:30AM. The interment will follow the Mass at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
