
The family of Edward "Bruce" Edrington is saddened to announce his passing on October 19. 2024 at the age of 93. Bruce was born on October 25, 1930. He attended Lusher Grammar School, Fortier High School, and LSU where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He attended LSU School of Medicine and spent six years in the Air Force Reserve and four years on Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina and Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. He then returned to New Orleans, working at Ochsner Hospital and then going into private practice as an ENT doctor and head and neck surgeon at Baptist Hospital. He was fond of traveling, and throughout his life, he was an enthusiastic sportsman. He enjoyed staying active by fishing, sailing, gardening, and golfing and was an avid tennis player. Bruce was a devoted member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a staunch supporter of St. Paul's Episcopal School. He is predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Kathleen Rensch Edrington. He leaves behind three daughters, Christine Kelleher (Harry), Kathy Swannack (Charlie), and Beth Edrington, along with six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his dear friend, Barbara Stapp. His family would like to thank Sandra Bridges and her family for taking such good care of him. A memorial service will be held on November 14, 2024, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. and a service at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 6249 Canal Blvd. in New Orleans, LA 7024.
