Edward Joseph Guirovich, age 92, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Ed was born on May 22, 1934 to Bernadette Robicheaux Guirovich and Nicholas Guirovich. He grew up in the Irish Channel with his two older sisters, Iris Wayman and Dorothy O'Dwyer. After graduating from Redemptorist, he served in the Air Force for four years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years. Catherine Knesel Guirovich; his loving children, Dan Guirovich, Lisa St. Romain (Bobby), and Paul Guirovich (Elly); six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Ed's career involved working on the river with import/export and bulk storage. He loved to travel, especially bus tours and cruises. Ed loved everything New Orleans: Mardi Gras (Irish Channel Corner Club, Alla, Sparta), Jazz Fest ("Money Man" with Moisant Kiwanis), Saints, LSU, and seafood. Ed was an Honorary Life Member of Father Seelos KC Council (2878).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 12:00 pm. The interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum, which is on the same grounds as the funeral home.
