Growing up with ya'll you were the sweetest lady I think I've ever met. You made the best mint tea in the world. I still can't find any that's even close to comparable. I remember you taught me how to pick tomatoes, and you defended me from Bryan Tedesco when he beat me in poker and took all my quarters. I was 6 or 7 and cried until you made him apologize and give them back. I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend your services, but know I'll be praying for you tonight. All my love.

So sorry to hear of Ms Effie Lou's passing,    now she is fixing Bott his coffee again.. she was a very sweet, kind lady. We enjoyed visiting her and Mr Bott in Waveland  many times..and our casino trips with them  Our sympathy to Walter Wayne and JoJo and families  Love CHristle and August

Faye and Joe, I have never had the honor of meeting Mrs. Effie, but I always heard wonderful things about her.  My heart goes out to both of you, she is probably with Bobby right now.  Patricia Lefebvre Wilson

I really wish I got to know Maw-maw better and got to be around her more.The times I did get to spend with her and Paw-paw were always full of laughter and " Yay boy." You always cooked the best gumbo, and boy what I'd do to have it one last time. Love you and miss you always Maw-maw.

Miss Effie was one of the best women I ever knew in my life.i have a lot of good memories sitting on the swings downstairs and visiting also going to eat crawfish at the grand and boomtown casinos..Paul,allways said,Miss Effie made the best pancakes he ever had.you will be missed and hope you knew you were very much loved.

Maw-Maw:

If there is a definition for the word â€œimpeccabilityâ€, in a human being, you were perfect for it.  The admiration I have for a woman that did nothing for herself, but only for othersâ€¦a woman whose only focus was to serve her man (Paw-Paw Bott), her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends to her fullest potential and beyond.

Oh, the great memories I have with you and Paw-Paw will be cherished forever.  My greatest were the weeks at a time I would spend at your home on Dolphin Circle on the water during my summer breaks as a kid.  Many, many great memories like below just to name a few:

-For starters, you would cook me and Paw-Paw anything we wanted to eat.  Many breakfast memories of â€œFried Doughâ€ and â€œCream of Wheatâ€â€¦up at about 5am, Lunchtimes around 11am, Dinner around 2pm, more eating later in the evening followed by Ice Cream of course at night.  And you made the best Mint Iced Tea.   

-Going to Church together.  And how you said those rosaries every single dayâ€¦as a kid, I was amazed and couldn't believe how you sat there and said the same thing over and over again and didn't get tired.

-Going grocery shopping together.  And to get that Cranberry Juice don't forget.

-Watching TV together come nighttime as I slept at the foot of the bed to feel close and safe.

-Watching you help Paw-Paw sew all those trawl nets until late at night.  You were the last to bed and the first upâ€¦seemed you never slept.  You weren't lucky to get all those naps throughout the day like Paw-Paw did.

-Driving to the marina together to see what Paw-Paw's friends caught on the boat and in the cast net.

-In my college days, I recall driving all the way to Mississippi almost on a weekly basis so we could go eat Crawfish together outside at the Casinos.

-As a huge Family for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, we ate at about 11am until we couldn't fit another bite, packed it all up, then pulled it all out again about 4pm or so to eat againâ€¦eating as much the 2nd go around as we did the 1st â€“ I don't know how we did that.  Then, your famous â€œMillionaireâ€ pie and â€œBread Puddingâ€ (half w/ raisins and half without to accommodate all) as I watched all the adults have conversation over coffee.

Just great, great memories I have with you and all we got to share.  We all love you and will miss you so very much!  And oh how we still miss Paw-Paw so very much.  As you are now reunited with your best friend that you so mourned these last 5 years or so which you were never able to hurdle, I find comfort that you are finally happy to be in God's Kingdom â€“ Heaven â€“ and the Catholic religion that you so devotedly practiced.
