

Elaine Claire Kelley Mowbray Mateyko passed away at her home on April 18, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 11, 1929. After graduating from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1947, she joined the workforce. She worked at Flintco in Chalmette, then the YMCA setting up their various classes and then for Halliburton Services until her retirement. Once retired, she was able to devote more time to the activities she loved.
She enjoyed all types of dancing. She helped to teach dance at the Lee Circle YMCA. She also loved ballroom dance, square dance, round dance, hula, and Jamaican. She knew every line dance and was even in a dance revue at the age of 60 where she showcased her skill in tap dancing. Her other hobbies included reading romance novels, working on her puzzles, and various arts and crafts.
Elaine was a parishioner of St. Ann Church and National Shrine for many years. She gave back to her community by volunteering. She volunteered her time with East Jefferson Hospital for 25 years as well as the Pink House.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Dominick Kelley and Adele Cleo Haug Kelley; brother, Robert Hugh Kelley; and grandson, Jeffrey Michael Ogier.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda M. Ogier (Louis); grandchildren, Jennifer Ogier Rohli (Chris), JoAnna Ogier McDaniel (Chad), and Julie Ogier Lotz (Edward); great grandchildren, Christopher Rohli (Zoe), Justin Riviere, Jonathan Rohli (Sierra), Joshua Ogier (Jessica), Cael McDaniel, Cara McDaniel, Edward G. Lotz (Elizabeth), and Eden Lotz; and great great grandchildren, Lachlan Hottel, Nolan Hottel, Oaklie Rohli, Maverick Rohli, and Ainsley Rohli.
The family would like to give special thanks to Nikki, Kyefe, and Dawn of Concerned Care who provided excellent care to her during her time in hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Ann Church and National Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Drive in Metairie, Louisiana, on Friday, May 9, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10 AM with a Mass to follow at 11 AM. Elaine will be laid to rest in All Saints Mausoleum immediately following the services.
