

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Newton, her children, Dana Orgeron (Jamie), Audra Newton-Haskoor (Michael), Michelle (Missy) Newton-Chubb, William (Billy) Newton and her grandchildren, Zachary Newton, Ryan Gueho, Rachel Gueho, Emilee Chubb and Sarah Morales, her sister, Vergie Clause and brother, IV Jeansonne.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wilson and Doris Jeansonne and brother, Allen Jeansonne.
Elaine was born in Big Bend, Louisiana and moved to New Orleans at the age of 17, where she went from cotton picker to Princess. She is known by many terms of endearment, Scarlett, Tite Taunt, Tite Soeur, Momma and Grandmother. She was a force of nature and the matriarch of the Newton family. She enjoyed gardening and decorating, but more importantly, she worked tirelessly to make the world a better place.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 27, 2021 with a funeral service immediately following in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
