Elisha Jason, Jr. “Junior”, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. He was 86. Elisha was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 2, 1937. His career was spent in the seafood industry, and worked for various New Orleans restaurants over the years, including Schiro and Barges, Fisherman’s Cove, and Sal Piazza. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and playing horseshoes.
Elisha was preceded in death by his parents, Elisha Jason, Sr. and Elenora Richards Jason; his sisters, Mary Louise Mackey, Gloria Jason, and Joyce Jason Coleman; his brothers, Warren Jason, Sr. and Leroy Jason, Sr.; and his grandchild, Kendrell Jason.
Elisha is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dolores Gaines Jason; his daughters, Deyanne Jason (Ernest), Vanessa Jones (Milton), Stephanie Reed (Lonnie), Dionell Jason (Kenneth), Vionca Jason, and Hannah Hilliard (Devin); his sons, Elisha Jason, III, Bryant Jason (Mae), Joshua Jason, and Nehemiah Jason (Notashious); his brother, Rodney Jason (Audrey); his grandchildren, Tyrin Jason, Antione Robertson, Bernard Jones, III, Zurianna Johnson, Markeria Wells, Deshon Albert, Jacoby Jason, Sr., Aungell Jason, Keyanna Albert, Brayanne Ford, Byrianna Jason, Javion Jason, Chantell Alexander (Malachi), Keyontae McEwen (Dythaniel), Kenneth Jason, Lonnie Reed, Lashantae Jason, Joshua Jason, Jr., Kaedyn Bailey, and Kenyatta Jason; his great grandchildren, Jacoby Jason, Jr., Bernard Jones, IV, Aubria Jones, Dythaniel McEwen, Jr., Deonte McEwen, Samuel Alexander, Mariah Williams, Cali B. Jones, Ayden Williams, Brees Jones, Messiah McDowell, Jordan Jason, Nykeria Sippio, Zory Johnson, Wahlaya Johnson, Breah Ward, Ta’nyrea Ward, Malachi McDowell, Julez Jason, Ashariee Jason, Kwana Jason, Kinnechi Jason, Samuel L. Marshall, III, Khloe Giana, and Parish Kelly; his Godson, Albert Taylor (Myesha); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to National Executive Overseer Pastor Carolyn D. Roberson, Pastor R. J. Bolling, Sr., Lily of the Valley Church family, the medical staff of LCMC, Sandra Irons, Evelyn Richardson Bennett, Florence Prevost, Cecile Dalton and family, Warren Jason, Jr., and Anthony Gibson (Diane) for the care and compassion given to Mr. Jason. The family would also like to thank Tyeneika Banks and the staff of Mother’s Restaurant for continuous support through this difficult time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Abundant Life Tabernacle, 1701 Franklin Ave. in New Orleans, on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 10:00AM with National Executive Overseer Pastor Carolyn D. Roberson officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 8:00AM until 9:45AM. The interment will follow the service at Resthaven Memorial Park, 10400 Old Gentilly Rd. in New Orleans.
