Elizabeth W. Palmisano

Elizabeth W. Palmisano, 84, of Metairie, passed away on June 17, 2026. She was born on March 28, 1942, in Shady Grove, FL to Eunice and Allen Wood. She graduated from Taylor County High School in Perry, FL in 1960.

Elizabeth graduated from Tulane School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked at Southern Baptist Hospital until after Hurricane Katrina. She continued as a nurse for Kenner Regional Medical Center until retirement.

Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and traveling. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. AJ and Liz were known for their warm hospitality and Sunday lunches for anyone lucky enough to be invited.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, of 52 years at the time of his passing, Anthony J. Palmisano; parents; sister, Carol Wood Thompson; and brother, Allen Wood.

Survivors include Anthony “Tony” Joseph Palmisano, Jr. (Terese) and Brian Wood Palmisano (Christy); grandchildren, Kourtnie Pizani (Kerry), Meghan E. Palmisano (Josh), Mallori A. Palmisano, and Reagan E. Palmisano, Brandi (Stephen) Cortez, and Chantell LaCava; and great grandchildren, Kyler and Kayson Pizani, Angellica, William, Cara, and Avery Cortez.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 26, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
