Ellen Ann Darby Sanders was born to the union of the late Leola Collier and Joseph Darby on October 25, 1942. She departed this life on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Sammie L. Tillman and Gordon Sanders Sr. Loving mother of Sandra Burkhalter, Yvette (Derrick) Pollard, Gordon Sanders Jr., Mechelle (Steven) Greeley and the late Cynthia M. Landry-Burkhalter and her late son-in-law Edmond Burkhalter Sr.
Sister of Jackie, Bernadette, and Alexis Darby and Verna and Jessie Brown, Joseph Darby Jr. and the late Mark Darby, Barbara and Thomas Brown Jr., Shirley Cotton and Leola Emery. Adorable grandmother and great-grandmother of 18 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren and the late Liyah Burkhalter. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and Friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, La. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery.
