She was very enthusiastic about her hobby and often gave pieces of her artwork to family and friends. Gardening was another hobby that Ellen loved. She would often cut a piece from her garden and offer it to others to share or plant. She loved animals and was known for rescuing many over the years, and considered them her babies. Ellen and her husband owned and operated Charlie’s Steakhouse in Uptown New Orleans, and following his death she continued to run the restaurant. Last and certainly not least, she was an avid shopper who was known to always go the day after Christmas to get her Hallmark ornaments.
