

Elliot attended Metairie Park Country Day School, graduated from Baylor in Chattanooga, Tennessee and attended Vanderbilt University. He was a former member of Munholland United Methodist Church of Metairie, Louisiana, and a devoted member of the United Methodist Church of Dothan, Alabama.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Navy as a helmsman on the minesweeper, USS Enhance (MSO-437).
After his Navy service, and while living in his home in New Orleans, Elliot enjoyed being the guardian of two foster children.
His professional career as a computer analyst began in New Orleans at Offshore Navigation. He then became an independent contractor and served many of the top Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States, including ones located in Memphis, Tennessee, Madison, Wisconsin, ad Bentonville, Arkansas.
While working in Panama City, Florida, he met his wife, Cheryl, and enjoyed a marriage that lasted for 30 years. With his contract in Madison, Wisconsin, Elliot, his wife Cheryl, and their daughter, Jennifer bought a home in suburban Chicago, Illinois and lived there for many years.
Elliot and his family made their final home in Dothan, Alabama, where he retired in 2016.
Elliot is survived by his wife, Cheryl Bates Christian, his daughter, Jennifer, and three grandchildren, Hunter, Ryan and Ray. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Jane (“Buffy”) Boesel Christian, his only brother, Peter F. Christian (Gayle), nephew Scott and niece Ana Gayle. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward R. Christian, MD.
An event celebrating his life was held in Dothan, Alabama on 9 February 2017. A private service in New Orleans was arranged by Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.
