Elvia Weingart Pfefferle, resident of New Orleans, died on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the age of 91. Wife of the late Donald Burvant Pfefferle, Sr., married 63 years. Loving and devoted mother of Angéle Pfefferle Hines (Joey), Donald B. Pfefferle, Jr. (Sherry Chavis), Karl D. Pfefferle (Jeanne Jumonville), and René J. Pfefferle (Donna Bella). Grandmother of Karl, Jr., Erik (Heather Riccobono), Keith (Lindsey DeVun), and Suzanne Pfefferle Tafur (Dr. José Tafur); Amanda and Leah Hines; Tracey Pfefferle Chagnon (Scott); Dr. Kyle Pfefferle, Kirk, and Adam Pfefferle. Great-grandmother of Heidi and Hank Pfefferle; Michah and Nico Pfefferle; Finley Chagnon and Santiago Tafur. Daughter of the late George Washington Weingart, III and Zenobia Price Weingart. Sister of the late George W. Weingart IV, and Ann Kronlage Solomon. Sister-in-law of Laura Cali Pfefferle.
Elvia graduated from Newcomb College in 1948. She was a volunteer at Tulane Medical Center, Mercy Hospital and New Orleans Museum of Art. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish and an active member of Sodality.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3368 Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 a.m. until Mass. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
