Emile Joseph Buhler, III

Emile Joseph Buhler, III was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 23, 1930 and died on November 26, 2018 at the age of 88 years old surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, Emile was preceded in death by his parents, Emilia Ormond Buhler and Emile Joseph Buhler, Jr. and his beloved wife of 59 years Indie Ferguson Buhler who passed 8 weeks earlier. He is survived by his brother Richard Ormond Buhler, S.J., and his children, Indie Buhler McKay, wife of Donald E. McKay, Jr., Richard Ormond Buhler, husband of Wendy Makofsky Buhler, Jean Buhler Liljeberg, wife of Samuel J. Liljeberg, Sr. and Emilia Buhler St. George, wife of Vincent R. St. George; and nine grandchildren, Patrick Timothy McKay, husband of Samantha Navarra McKay, Sean Michael McKay, Michael Joseph McKay, Scott Ferguson Buhler, John McCormick Buhler, Anna Elizabeth St. George, Indie Clare St. George, Kathryn Moore Liljeberg and Samuel John Liljeberg, Jr. Emile graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL-Lafayette) and Loyola Law School. His legal career was spent in the oil and gas industry with Shell Oil Company, Florida Gas Exploration and Ansythe Exploration Companies. He served in the United States Army and United States Air Force and was a founding member of the Serra Club.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. celebrated by his brother, Rev. Richard O. Buhler, S.J. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park.
