Emma K. Arena

Emma Knight Mistretta Arena passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Philip Joseph Arena, Sr.; parents Daisy Ducote and Thaddeus Knight; daughter Pamela Chance; sister Yvonne Williams; and son-in-law Gary Peterson. Emma is survived by her children Judy Nichols (Philip), Trudy Lacour (Earl), Steve Mistretta (Bea), Cathy Peterson, Philip Mistretta Sr. (Judy), son-in-law Jack Sr., and step-son Philip Joseph Arena, Jr. (Robin Russell); grandchildren Christy Nichols, Penny Nichols Barthe (Kevin), Erica Lugo Parrack (Paul), Barry Lacour III (Kelly), Laurie Lacour Bolanos (Gilton), Steve Mistretta III, Richard Mistretta Sr, Johnny DeVooght, Shawn DeVooght, Stacy Mistretta Hohman (Steve), Belinda, Julie, Buster, Philip Mistretta Jr., Michelle Chance, Jack Chance Jr (Edward Drevar), Philip Arena III, Jillian Arena; and 19 great grandchildren; her godchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Emma was a parishioner of St. Rita Parish in Harahan for 61 years where she served as a Eucharist Minister for many years.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Rita Catholic Church of Harahan, Louisiana.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Rita Catholic Church, 7100 Jefferson Highway, Harahan, Louisiana on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will take place privately for the family.
