Ethel Cancienne Buckley, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James H. Buckley and her brothers, Alden, Warren and Joseph Cancienne. She is survived by her children, Tom Buckley (Heather), Pat Buckley (Patti), Cindy Koenig (Paul) and Arleen Troyer (Drew); her sisters, Ione Muhs and Lou LoCascio; grandchildren, Allison Claxton, Melissa Favre, Sara Waldvogel, James Buckley, Joshua Murla, Clayton Koenig, Rachel Arnold, Amanda Fontenot and Kathryn Troyer; and 13 great-grandchildren. Ethel was born in Donner, Louisiana and retired from the University of New Orleans as a secretary. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Her smile will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Poydras Home, 5354 Magazine St. New Orleans, LA 70115. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:00 NOON until service time. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
