Eugene Milton Meyer, Jr passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the age of 78. He was a native of New Orleans and resident of Opelousas. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Eugene worked at Entergy New Orleans for over 35 years and then LUS in Lafayette for over 10 years. He enjoyed working on model cars, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his dogs. Dad/PawPaw/Gene will be sadly missed by all of his family, friends & fur babies. Eugene is survived by his son, Eugene M. Meyer III; stepsons, Christopher Dufour (Amanda) and Ronald Dufour (Jeanne); grandchildren, Brooke Meyer Lirette, Taylor Meyer, Jacob Meyer, Alexandra Dufour, Christina Dufour, Abigail Dufour and Joshua Dufour; and one great-grandchild, Noah Oak Lirette. He is preceded in death by his spouse of 37 years, Della David Meyer and his parents, Eugene and Lillian Meyer. A graveside service will take place at Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 2pm.
