Evelyn Alma Cluney Trahant Passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on June 8, 1936, was a native of New Orleans, and a resident of Kenner, LA. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Evelyn M. Cluney and her very special Aunt Alma.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert C. Trahant, sons, Keith Strassel (Jill), Rory Strassel (Priscilla), and Lloyd Strassel Jr. (Emma), stepson, Wade Trahant (Luanne), grandchildren, Stephen, Joshua, Keith Jr., Danielle, and Hailey, 5 step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Olivia, and Blake and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn enjoyed many things including bowling, dancing, and many trips that she and her husband went on. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM – 11 AM with a prayer service to begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
