
Felix J. Blanchard, (Pappy), a retired bookkeeper, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of 65 years to Emma Dufour Blanchard, (Nanny). He served in the U. S. Army in World War II and the Korean War. He was born in Belle Rose, Louisiana to the late George Samuel and Odilia Oselet Blanchard. He is survived by one brother, Louis Blanchard, from Mill Hall, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucille Braud, Bernadette Babin, Enola Cire, and Lena Templet; and by two brothers, Nolan Blanchard and Claude Blanchard. He was an active member and devoted volunteer at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Metairie since 1971.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
