Flora Frances Purser Fisher, age 96, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015. A native Texan, she had moved to the New Orleans area in recent years to be nearer family. She was preceded in death by her parents, ten brothers and sisters, two husbands and a son, Larry Strifley. She is survived by her son Darrell Ray Knight of New Orleans. Mrs. Fisher was a creative multi-talented artist, writer, musician, and artisan who used her natural gifts to enrichen the lives of others. Her curiosity, energy, and willingness to embrace new experiences kept her young at heart for all of her nearly ninety-seven years on this earth. Her adventurous spirit will live on as inspiration to all whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to her favorite charity, Meals on Wheels. A visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home with funeral services to begin at 11 am. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Cemetery.
