Flora Mae Higgins Summerville, age 96, a native of Gretna, Louisiana passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her home in Lillian, Alabama. Flora Mae Summerville had a career spanning 25 years during that time serving seven Parish Presidents at the Jefferson Parish Courthouse in Gretna, LA.
After they retired, she and Dad moved to Lillian, Alabama where they built their "Forever Home" surrounded by her Azaleas and Camellias on Perdido Bay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin F. Higgins and Josephine Drinkhaus Higgins and devoted spouse of 65 years, William H. Summerville, Jr.
Mrs. Summerville is survived by her two sons: William H. III and wife Lauren Summerville of Foley, Alabama and James A. and wife Charlene Summerville of Marrero, Louisiana; her daughters: Diane S. Allen and husband Jimmy Allen of Kenner, Louisiana and Peggy A. Summerville and husband David R. Spivey of Lillian, Alabama.; her seven grandchildren: Wendi Summerville of Foley, Alabama, Trish Summerville and Lauren Glazier of Los Angeles, California, Melissa Jorgensen and Tony of Santaquin, Utah, James A. Summerville, Jr. of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, Tammy Summerville and Brian Biondi of Marrero, Louisiana, Tina Findley and Lee of Bush, Louisiana, Marlene Seminary and Chance, Sr. of Harvey, Louisiana; her thirteen great grandchildren: Laken Summerville, Danny and Mya, Hayden Rotondi, Helaina Rotondi, William Rotondi and wife Katie Cartolano, Sophie Grace, Justin Burkeens, Bre'Ann Montelbon and Michael, Dorrian Richoux, Jasmine Findley, Jake Findley, Elysa Jorgensen, Cassie Jorgensen, Lillie Jorgensen and Chance Seminary, Jr.; three great-grandchildren Kennedy Honor Cartolano Rotondi ,Wilken Wilder Cartolano Rotondi, Jackson Rotondi.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Saturday May 15, 2021 at 12:00PM. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until service time. Private Interment.
