

Frances Costa McCloskey passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born in Bayou Current, Louisiana, and was a resident of New Orleans until 1969. She has been a resident of Metairie since that time. As a graduate of Allen High School in 1943, Frances was awarded the highest of distinctions, the American Legion medal. She was class president and a natural singer and actress in the school plays. Frances attended business school and was then employed with the U.S. Navy as a secretary during WWII. Frances was a former P.T.A. president, former member of St. Phillip Neri Church, and a former volunteer at the New Orleans Museum of Art. Frances was always elegant and always eloquent.
Beloved wife of the late Roy Peter McCloskey. Daughter of the late Frank Costa (Trentacosta) and the late Josephine Sagnibene Costa. Grand-daughter of the late Frances Cangelosi Trend(t)acosta and the late Peter Trentacosta. Niece of the late Ross Sagnibene and the late Grace Torino Sagnibene; cousin of Betty Sagnibene Campesi. Loving mother of David B. McCloskey and Dayna McCloskey Anderson. Mother-in-law of Gayle McCloskey and Steven Anderson. Grandmother of Mark (Michelle) McCloskey, Ryan McCloskey, Brandon Anderson, and Britton Anderson. Great-grandmother of Cameron McCloskey and Matthew McCloskey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation from 9 A.M. - 11 A.M. at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Saturday, November 12, 2016, and the Funeral Mass at 11 A.M., same location.
