Francis "Willy" Mayer

Francis "Willy" Mayer, a retired telephone service technician, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, TX. He was a native of Metairie, LA and lived in The Colony, TX for many years. He was 73 years old. Francis worked for Southwest Utilities, New Orleans, LA and retired from Siemans located in Grapevine, TX. He was the beloved grandson of Ignatius and Mary Milazzo (dec.). Beloved son of the late Jacob and Bernadine Mayer of Metairie, LA, brother of Sandra Mayer Richard (Stanley, Jr., dec.) of Metairie, LA, John Jacob Mayer, of Metairie, LA, and Gerald Joseph Mayer (Nancy), of Dandridge, Tennessee, and the late Jackie Mayer. Nephew of Grace Milazzo Songy, of Harahan, LA and the late Paul, Philip, Peter, Joseph, Salvador, Ignatius and Anthony Milazzo, Chetta Milazzo Drewes, and Louise Milazzo Culotta. Uncle of Dawn Richard Gwin (Colin) of Saint Rose, LA, Stanley P. Richard, III (Cathy) of Saint Rose, LA, Melaine Mayer Woodall (Aaron) of Talbot, TN, and Sherri Sande (Jeremiah) of Metairie, LA. Great Uncle of Dominic Jacob Piazza (Ashley) ,Baton Rouge, LA, Colin Anthony Piazza, Saint Rose, LA, Abigail Lynn Richard, Saint Rose, LA , Autumn Simone Woodall, Talbot, TN, and Great Great Uncle of Rubi Jae Piazza, Baton Rouge, LA. Survived by a host of relatives and friends. Francis attended St. Anthony of Padua (New Orleans, LA) and St. Catherine of Siena (Metairie, LA) elementary schools, Jesuit High School (New Orleans, LA) and UNO (New Orleans, LA). He is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with Prayers beginning at noon.
