Fred Hirsch

Fred Hirsch passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the age of 84 in Metairie, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Linda Hirsch and his parents, Sylvia and Desideriu Hirsch. Fred leaves behind his daughter, Shayna Hirsch; sisters-in-law, Charlene Pukof (late, Albert) and Rosalie Dulitz (late, Harris); his brother-in-law, Dr. Lester Dultiz (late, Diane “Dee Dee”); his grandson, Max Hirsch; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Born in Cluj, Romania, Mr. Hirsch fled to the U.S. after WWII and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to New Orleans after meeting his wife, Linda, where he resided the remainder of his life. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and later went on to the Merchant Marines before becoming a Police Officer for Jefferson Parish. Mr. Hirsch was also a Master Mason of Masonic Lodge Alpha Home #72 and a devout member of Chabad House.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service to be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Chevra Thilim Cemetery, 4824 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70119.
