Son of the late Bessie and Joe Barraco, he was born August 2, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School in 1966 and received his BA in Business from Southern University.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. Freddy was a salesman for F. Christiana & Co and retired from there.
A devoted family man, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lauralyn Davis Barraco, children, Wendy Palmer, Kevin Barraco (Ann) and Joseph Barraco (Sharon), seven granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Mouton (Melvin).
Services will be on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. The interment will be private for family only.
