Gayle Wille Delaney

Gayle Wille Delaney passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on January 20, 1933, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Emile and Juliette Wille and is survived by one sister, Joy Wille Kohlmaier. She was happily married to Patrick Delaney until his passing in 1999. She is survived by her three children, Derek Delaney, Patrick Delaney, Kim Delaney DeVun, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to her life.

Gayle graduated from St. Mary's Dominican High School in New Orleans and attended Dominican College in New Orleans. She was a champion tennis player in high school and continued to play throughout her life.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was affectionately called "Momma Gayle". She and her husband had an abundance of wonderful friends whom they loved spending time with. She was an avid supporter of the local entertainment community of New Orleans and loved to travel with family and friends. "Momma Gayle " leaves behind a family who adored her and countless friends whose lives were touched by her love, kindness, and generosity.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will be held from 10 AM – 11 AM with a memorial Mass to begin at 11 AM. Inurnment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center or Ladies Leukemia League in honor of Gayle's giving spirit.
