Geloma M. Rouse "Jill"

Geloma M. Rouse “Miss. Jill” was born into eternal life on Friday, March 25, 2022. Jill was born August, 9 1926 to the late Lena and Salvador Modica. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin M. Rouse “Bubby” of 64 years and her brother, Salvador Modica Jr.

Jill is survived by her daughter, Lynn R. Cadwallader (Creighton) of Houston, TX; son, Steven A. Rouse (Pam) of Mandeville, LA; her grandchildren, Lauren R. Jones (Craig) and Bradley S. Rouse (Heather); great-grandchildren, Christian W. and Cameron W. Jones and Miles B. Rouse; and her sister, Margie Modica Sobert (Paul) of Richmond, VA., along with many nieces and nephews. She loved her family so very much.

Jill was a purchasing agent for Commander’s Palace Restaurant and worked for the Brennan family for 43 years. During those years, she worked with great chefs like Paul Pruhomme and Emeril Lagasse to name a few. She bought everything from olives to stoves, but she loved her job and the people who went along with it.

Jill was also an animal lover. Her puppies, as she called them, Honey, Buster and Sassy miss her as well.

She was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Lacombe, LA

The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Melody Culler, Micki Roger and Donie Williams as well as the staff of Notre Dame Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. to be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
