George J. Faustermann

George J. Faustermann passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born in New Orleans on February 22, 1942. George was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves. He went on to a career as a general contractor for his uncle George Faustermann at George Faustermann Construction Company and later worked as a plan reviewer for over 30 years with Jefferson Parish Code Enforcement. He was a member of Jackson Avenue Evangelical Church as well as Krewe of Centurions, Golden Ranch Hunting Club, and Allen Ranch Hunting Club. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boiling seafood, and spending time with family and friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florentine Hull Faustermann. 

 George is survived by his wife of 48 years, Phyllis Humphrey Faustermann; daughter, Tina Wellman (Herb); sons, John Faustermann (Lauren) and Darrin Faustermann (Mary); sister, Joan Gabler (Glenn), Florentine “Sissie” Campise (the late Julian); grandchildren, Brandon (Allison), Zachary, Madison, Megan (Logan), Ashley, and Heidi; and great grandchildren, Jax, Zayne, and Amelia. 

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services officiated by Jason McReynolds at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10 AM with a chapel service following at 12 PM. George will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park immediately after the chapel service has concluded.
