George Luther Schnur Jr.

George Luther Schnur, Jr., 89, passed away on February 26, 2026. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to George Luther Schnur, Sr. and Julia Pruitt Schnur on September 14, 1936. George served in the United States Navy. He was a Service Representative for 30 years at Addressograph Multigraph Corp./AM International Inc.

George was an active member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Metairie. He enjoyed volunteering at East Jefferson General Hospital for 20 years.

George was preceded in death by his parents; former spouse and mother of Rebecca, Mary Rose Barbato Schnur; and sister, Dorcas Anne Schnur.

Survivors include Rebecca Schnur LaGrange (Todd David LaGrange) and grandchildren, Thomas Schnur LaGrange (Rebecca Rippon) and Julia Cecile LaGrange.

A private service will be held. George will be laid to rest in Metairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doctors Without Borders.
