George H. Strunk Jr.

George served in the United States Coast Guard and as a civilian in the United States Army. He worked as a real estate investor.

George served as a board member of Timberlane Country Club. George loved gardening, boating, fishing, and golfing, along with RC planes/boats, CB radios, and traveling. He was always the life of the party.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Strunk, Sr. and Irma Green Strunk; sister, Mary Elizabeth Hoover; and brother, Charles Eugene Strunk.

George is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beverly Gosselin Strunk; his daughter, Vickey Strunk Stewart; grandchild, Nancy-Ruth Stewart; and stepchildren, Deborah Tosh (Michael Forschler), Stephen Sudderth (Lisa), John Sudderth (Yvonne), and Robert Sudderth (Cori).

The family extends heartfelt thanks to dear friends and loved ones whose unwavering support through the years, along with kind words, actions and their comforting presence, has brought us light during this difficult time.

There will be a visitation from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. At 3:00 pm there will be eulogies and presentation of military honors.
