

George Ernest Thibodeaux passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the age of 75. George was born on August 7, 1950 in Bogalusa, LA, the second son of Raymond and Vernice Thibodeaux. He graduated from Bogalusa High School and went LSU where he completed an undergraduate degree and obtained an MBA from UNO. George married his college sweetheart Mary Ellen Meyer Thibodeaux in 1972, and was a devoted father to his 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren. George worked hard and had pride in his professional contributions, but was enjoying his retirement even more! His loves in life were his wife, his kids, his grandchildren, LSU sports, and kung pao chicken!
George is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Vernice Thibodeaux and his brother Wayne Thibodeaux. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Thibodeaux, daughters Lisa St. Germain (Brad), Lauren Picou (Joseph), and Kristin Bernard (Rogan), his brother Steve Thibodeaux (Janet), sister-in-law Laura Thibodeaux, and grandchildren David, Andrew, Ava, Grace, Sienna, and Hazel. George was also close to his nieces and nephews and their families.
George was a devoted member of St. Angela Merici parish in Metairie, and then St. Jude parish in Baton Rouge where he attended mass. A mass will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00am with a reception immediately following.
