Georjean Rae Pumnea Crosley, age 75, on September 28, 2017. Much loved mother of Thea Crosley Wall (Ralph) and Theodore “Todd” Vance Crosley, Jr. (Anne Cusimano). “Sasha” was the cherished grandmother of Sheridan, Richmond and Cameron Wall and Ellie, Ty and Katherine Crosley. She is survived by them, as well as her brother Richard “Rick” Pumnea, sister Nancy Pumnea DeWitt, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and a grandnephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Eugenia “Jennie” Pumnea, her brother Alan “Corky” Pumnea and beloved husband of 48 years, Theodore Vance “Ted” Crosley, Sr. Georjean was born in East Chicago, Indiana. She earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education at Ball State University and a master’s degree in education at the University of Arkansas. She worked in professional education for many years and was the long standing President of Phillips Junior Colleges in New Orleans. She also briefly dabbled in show business as the owner and operator of True Brew Café & Theatre and she also owned and operated Sasha’s Place in the Galleria in Metairie. She retired as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Audubon Institute Aquarium of the Americas and also served there as a volunteer herself. Georjean loved to travel and she and Ted, along with family, friends and business associates enjoyed many trips overseas and throughout the country. She also enjoyed a yearly trip for more than 30 years with her “Bridge Group”. She enjoyed creating scrapbooks for her grandchildren and doing genealogy research. She loved to shop and gathered many “collectibles” throughout the years. She also was an avid painter that focused on still life and beach scenes, but her greatest passion was being involved in the lives of her grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the West Point Church, 664 Behrman Hwy, Gretna, LA at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017.
