Gerald G. May

Gerald G. May passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the age of 84. He was born in New Orleans on April 25, 1933 and was a lifelong resident of Metairie, LA. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanna Desselle May, three children, Stephen Christopher (Donna), Jeanne M. Clark, and Diane M. Wehrman (Ed), five grandchildren, Craig Michael (Tiffany) and Christopher John Clark, Phoebe Claire, Samantha Crowe and Olivia Theresa Wehrman, and two great grandchildren, Colin Craig and Hailei Marie Clark. He is also survived by one brother, James Gerard, and his twin sister, Geraldine M. Davis (Arthur), and numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents Louis Matthew and Clara Arrigo May, and eight siblings Louis James, Marion, Milton, Ines, Juliet, Betty, Theresa and Theodore.

He enjoyed photography and cross stitching, but his greatest joy came from His published work on the genealogy of his family.

Lake Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements on Friday April 6, 2018. Visitation is from 9:00-11:00 with services to follow.
