Gerard (Jerry) Dwyer, entered the gates of heaven, on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the age of 88. Jerry was a native of New Orleans and served in the Navy, but also retired from the New Orleans Public Service Gas Department. Proceeded in death by loving wife Rosalie Oddo Dwyer, seven siblings Richard, Michael, Eva, John, Blanche and Marie. Jerry is survived by his sister Bernie Iverson, two loving sons Gregory (Janice) and Keith (Gloria). Jerry also leaves behind four grandchildren Todd(Christi), Kristine, Blake, Kim and four great grandchildren Raelynn, Kasyn, Ryder, Charli. Jerry also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jerry has always enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing and completing puzzles.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 12 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
