Gerard "Jerry" Anthony Piglia

Gerard “Jerry” Anthony Piglia, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Texas surrounded by family, on January 27, 2021. Son of the late John G. Piglia Sr. and the late Viola Ellis Piglia. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Piglia for 56 years. Father of Renee Adams and Jeanette Chacon (Lenny). Grandfather of Emili Anderton (Ryan), Morgan Laurent (Jon) and Emma Dematteo. Great-grandfather of Scarlet Anderton. Brother of Thomas Piglia (JoAnn), Ann Piglia Wetta (the late Raymond), Patrick Piglia (Diane), Lawrence Piglia (the late Geraldine), the late John Piglia Jr. (the late Marie), the late Ellis Piglia Sr. (Carolyn) and the late Claire Piglia Richards (the late Roy). Jerry is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Jerry was born on December 6, 1938 in New Orleans where he lived for 80 years before moving to Texas. Jerry loved sports, listening to his records and having coffee and donuts. His kind heart and endearing personality made him adored by many. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Ann Church, 3601 Transcontinental Dr in Metairie at 12:00pm on Monday, February 8, 2021. Visitation will begin at 11:00am on Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. Ann Church. All visitors are required to wear their own masks and follow all current COVID19 mandates.
