Gerard “Jerry” A. Schulin passed away on October 28, 2026. He was born in New Orleans on August 26, 1931. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Cynthia Frady Schulin; and his daughter, Mary Scalco (Richard); daughter-in-law, Lynn Schulin; grandchildren, Daniel Schulin, Alex Scalco, Nicole Surcouf (Jeff) and Nicholas Scalco (Leah); great-grandchildren, Nico and Bowie Nanpei Scalco, and Owen and Jillian Surcouf; and his sister, Marilyn Schulin. He is preceded in death by his sons, Gerard Schulin, Jr., and Craig Schulin; parents, John E. Schulin, Sr. and Mercedes L. Schulin; and his siblings, John E. Schulin, Jr. and Carolyn Schulin. Jerry spent his career in the construction industry, retiring from JA Jones. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and treasured his time in the outdoors with relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124, on Friday, November 6, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM and with Mass to follow at 11:00AM. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
