Mother of Dr. Carl J. "Chip" Lavie, Jr., Dr. Thomas J. Lavie, Michael G. Lavie, John P. Lavie and Susan M. Lavie

Mother-in-law of Bonnie Bossetta Lavie, Claire Hay Lavie, Alisa Early Lavie, Daphne Boone Lavie and Dr. Jay Sevin. Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren, Dr Jayson ( and spouse Kristen), Dr Jennifer, Dr Scott ( and spouse Dr Lacey), Annie, Sophia, Juliet, Meghan, William, Audrey, Ellie, Patrick, Caroline Lavie and Jackson and Nola Sevin and one great grandchild, Luke Lavie, all who were adored by “Maw.”

Daughter of the late Martin and Rose Gladys Garvey Pfister.

She was the Matriarch of the Lavie Family, and welcomed so many into her home, feeding and entertaining for decades. Maw was all about comfort, and was always welcoming and had an amazing attention to personal details-making each person she met feel special and important. She loved all of the New Orleans professional, college and her family’s high school teams, especially the LSU Tigers, cheering them to the very end.

One of her last texts on her last day on earth said, “God has been so good to me” and “I have had a wonderful life.”

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her wonderful life and attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1 PM. Visitation will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park.
