

Gloria Brackvitch Crowell entered eternal life on November 18, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Orleans on March 24, 1931, to Jacob and Antonina (Lena) Brackvitch.
Gloria attended St. Joseph Academy High School and Soule Business College. She worked at Star Fasteners before starting her family. She was a homemaker until her children were all in school. There after, she worked at D.H. Holmes and Dillard’s, where she was a top salesperson for many years, retiring in 1993. She was a parishioner of Resurrection of Our Lord Parish for 60 years and served as a member and treasurer of the Ladies’ Club. Gloria loved her family, old movies, trips to the casino, and talking politics. She was a dedicated supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 year Robert (Bob), her siblings Jacob, Leon, Joseph, Mike, Leona and Lena Brackvitch, her grandson James D. Grady Jr. and her son-in-law James D. Grady Sr. Survived by her five children, Colleen Grady, Robert Crowell (Jamie), Erin Breaux (Jack), Alisha Crowell (Graham) and Michael Crowell. Her nine grandchildren, Matthew Grady, Angelle Jorden, Andrew Grady, Rodney (Johnny) J. Wortmann III, Sarah Ajan, Robert (Robbie) D. Crowell III, Christian Grady, Shelby Crowell, and Cynthia Odom, and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Jack Breaux, for their dedication and care over the last two years.
A private service was held on November 22, 2025, at Lake Lawn Cemetery, where she was laid to rest with her beloved husband.
