Gloria Fonte Marzloff

Gloria Fonte Marzloff, a retired secretary of Traveler’s Insurance, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born on May 21, 1928 to Dominic A. Fonte, Sr. and Gertrude Ryan Fonte.

Gloria was the beloved wife of the late George Edward Marzloff.

She is survived by her sister, Kathlyn Carrier, sister-in-law Rosemary Fonte and by children George E. Marzloff, Phillip W. Marzloff (Janet), and Stephen R. Marzloff.

She was Grandmother of Denise VanDermark, Ginger George (Lance), Blake Marzloff (Megan), George E. Marzloff II (Wenzhi), Gillian Marzloff Scorzello (John), Trey Marzloff (Rebecca), Jacob Marzloff (Amanda) and Alexa Marzloff.

Great Grandmother of Harper Holmes, Madison George, William George, Toby Marzloff, Wesley Marzloff, Victoria Lin-Marzloff and Abigail Marzloff.

Aunt to Michael Delarosa (Jacqueline), Barbara Fonte Robert, Kenneth Fonte (Colleen), Glenn Fonte, Michael Fonte (Loretta), Marie Fonte Poche, and Michele Fonte Ural (Mickey).

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in law Peter J. and Jane Fonte, brother-in-law Vern Carrier (Kathlyn) and brother Dominic A. Fonte Jr. (Rosemary).

The family extends thanks to her son, Steve, who cared for her since his father’s passing in December of 2012. They also wish to thank the staff of Chateau de Notre Dame for their dedicated attention to her needs during the past eleven months.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Gloria requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
